(The Don Giovanni Radio Hour) Music by Peter Hilliard TICKETS ON SALE SEPTEMBER 1
The golden age of Radio is brought to vivid and colorful life in this sharp and jazzy new musical. "DGRH" follows the exploits of Dean Newhouse, the womanizing host of "The Liberty Cigarrettes Radio Hour," a once-popular variety show coping with the rise of TV in the 1950s. Dean has double-crossed everyone on his show: the tragic soap queen, the "gee-whiz" teen couple, the hard-boiled detective, and of course his wise-cracking sidekick. As Dean struggles to keep his show on the air (and his cast from killing him), we're treated to a wildly eclectic score that pays tribute to just about EVERY style of popular music from the 50s, from Sinatra to Jerry Lee Lewis to Sonny Rollins. Only fitting for a show based on Mozart's controversial opera Don Giovanni, which made Wolfgang himself notorious for his schizophrenic "genre-hopping!"

Music written and performed by Lee Feldman, Carol Lipnik and Chris Moore
Join us as three
of New York's best songwriters get together to
share their spooky side. Piano-pop savant Lee Feldman, soulful
carnival-barker Carol Lipnik, and indie-rock luminary Chris Moore bring
us three tales of voices from the beyond that will stir your heart and
your imagination. From mystical lands where giants dwell, to a
desolate Mexican border town, to the tunnels of the New York City
subway, you'll see stories filled with mystery, horror and
humor...all to the tune of three truly unique voices from New York's
pop underground. |
